Panjwa’i District shura

A shura grouping with several Panjwa’i elders, Haji Fazluddin Agha, District Governor, Brigadier-General Dean Milner, Commander of Task Force Kandahar (TFK), Colonel Hercule Gosselin, Commander of the Operational Mentor and Liaison Team (OMLT), Brigadier-General Bannister, US Army, and Admiral Eric T. Olson, US Navy, and various Afghan National Security Force (ANSF) officials at OCCD-Panjwa’i on February 24, 2011. The OMLT programme is a key NATO-ISAF contribution towards the development of the ANA. Canada is partnered with the 1st Brigade of the 205th Corps of the ANA in Kandahar Province and is providing personnel support to six of the 54 OMLTs. TFK will continue robust security operations in conjunction with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the ANSF and its coalition and civilian partners in order to eliminate insurgent violence and set the conditions for successful and sustainable governance, development and peace in Southern-Afghanistan.
