OMLT Commander conducts battle field circulation in Panjwa’i and Dand Districts

Colonel Hercule Gosselin, Commander of the Operational Mentor and Liaison Team (OMLT ) visits with members of his organization in Panjwa’i and Dand to get a first hand view of the progress and challenges of the different mentor teams supporting the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Police. The OMLT programme is a key NATO-ISAF contribution towards the development of the ANA. Canada is partnered with the 1st Brigade of the 205th Corps of the ANA in Kandahar Province and is providing personnel support to six of the 54 OMLTs. Task Force Kandahar will continue robust security operations in conjunction with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Afghan National Security Forces and its coalition and civilian partners in order to eliminate insurgent violence and set the conditions for successful and sustainable governance, development and peace in Southern-Afghanistan.
