Ramp Ceremony for Corporal Yannick Scherrer

A Ramp Ceremony was held at Kandahar Airfield on March 28, 2011 for Corporal Yannick Scherrer. Corporal Yannick Scherrer, from Bulldog Company, 1er Bataillon, Royal 22e Régiment, based at CFB Valcartier, Québec, was killed after an improvised explosive device detonated during a partnered foot patrol in the Panjwa’i district of Kandahar Province, on March 27th 2011. Task Force Kandahar will continue robust security operations in conjunction with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Afghan National Security Forces, and its coalition and civilian partners in order to eliminate insurgent violence and set the conditions for successful and sustainable governance, development and peace in Southern Afghanistan.
